Mona Rodriguez was elected as the Member Representative at last night's WDIY Members' Meeting. Ms. Rodriguez will serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors, with the main role as liasiaon between the board and the WDIY members.
Mona joined the station as a volunteer host in 2006, filling in as needed and assisting with the Youth Media program. Shortly after, she began hosting Assorted Women, which she stills host to this day. Throughout her time at the station she has represented WDIY at numerous community events, including speaking as a panelist at several local conferences, operating the WDIY booth as a public relations representative informing the community about the station, and as WDIY emcee at many of the area's local concerts, fairs, and events.
Mona has worked as a paralegal most of her life, and enjoys side jobs like basic auto-mechanics and home improvement projects. She is a published author of poetry, and a record producer who has worked with Grammy-winning artists and musicians.
In addition to WDIY, she also volunteers with several other local organizations and churches.
Originally from NYC, she currently resides in the Lehigh Valley. She comes from a large family, and has two adult children and two grandchildren.
