On Galactic Travels, the Special Focus for July is Spacecraft. Spacecraft was formed in 1996 after a listening session of NASA image and sound mappings from the Voyager space probe. Founding members Tony Gerber and John Rose along with Diane Timmons formed the core of the group. Giles Reaves is included whenever possible but other people are tapped when the need arises.
Spacecraft plays space music, mostly Berlin-school electronica with excursions into ambient and elements of world music. Their concerts are improvised.
