ACE, the Arts Community of Easton, joins the celebration of Easton Heritage Day showcasing the historical works of Virginia Abbott. The Lehigh Valley is rich in history and art. Ms. Abbott's relief sculptures and paintings feature local historical figures including Lafayette, George Taylor, Asa Packer and also groups such as the Moravian quilters, the Lenni Lenape tribe and the Bethlehem Steel community. The majority of pieces are forged paper reliefs. The artist’s signature casting technique fuses a strong, lightweight sculpture with a brilliant, painted enamel shell. Also included are cast jewelry works. These “wearable sculptures” are statement pieces with a sense of whimsy making this a “something for everyone” art show. The opening reception will be held on Heritage Day, Sunday July 9th, between 1 and 4 PM at Room C at Quadrant Book Mart and Coffee Shop, 20 North 3rd Street in Historic Downtown Easton. The show will be up from July 9th to the 30th.
