Youth Media Calendar 2016

Welcome to WDIY's Youth Media Calendar. The Youth Media Calendar is a listing of upcoming local entertainment and activities for both families and young adult audiences. The calendar is compiled by the students of WDIY's Spring 2016 Youth Media Program.

 

Ongoing

  • The American Revolution exhibit at the Lehigh County Historical Society in Allentown is now open Tuesday through Sunday until June 12th. The exhibit features hands on activity for kids. For hours: http://lehighvalleyheritagemuseum.org/
  • One Saturday a month, Allentown’s Civic Theater hosts a film from their family friendly film series. The series will include films like Babe, Big, and Jumanji. For dates: http://civictheatre.com/

April

  • Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella at Allentown Central Catholic High School performs until April 2nd. For more information: http://acchs.info/
     
  • On April 2nd at 10:30 PM, Bethlehem’s ArtsQuest holds "Choose Your Own Mis-Adventure: A Comedy Show" at SteelStacks that allows the audience to weigh in on the course of the performance. For more information: http://steelstacks.org/
  • The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts in Bethlehem opens their spring musical, Evita, on Thursday, April 14th. Evening performances begin at 7 PM through the 16th, as well as a 2 PM matinee on April 17th. To pre-order tickets: http://charterarts.org/.   • On April 22nd, SteelStacks in Bethlehem hosts a free choreographed show by the B.S. Movement. In this performance, the group emphasizes how movement is necessary but different for everyone.  For more information: http://steelstacks.org/
     
  • The Lehigh Valley Zoo puts on their annual "Party for the Planet" event on Saturday April 23rd on Game Preserve Road in Schnecksville. For more information: http://lvzoo.org/
     
  • The Pennsylvania Youth Theatre hosts their voice concert on April 23rd at 7 PM at the Charles A. Brown IceHouse in Bethlehem. For more information: http://123pyt.org/ or 610-232-1400
     
  • On April 13th at 7 PM and May 1st at 3 PM, Pennsylvania Youth Theatre holds their Evening of Scenes at Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem. Students enrolled in the Senior Conservatory will be showcasing their talent during this performance. For more information: http://123pyt.org/

  • The annual Freddy Awards at the State Theater in Easton takes place on Thursday May 26th. The event presents awards to local high schools for their musical productions. WFMZ Channel 69 covers the event at 7 PM. For more information: http://freddyawards.org
