WDIY's Fall Membership Drive Starts Monday at 6am

Oct 17, 2013

We'll conduct our Fall Membership Drive October 14-19, with the goal of attracting new and renewing members to the station. And through a special partnership with PriceRite Supermarkets and Cabot Cheese, we'll be making a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank in honor of each donation that comes into the station during the drive. If we meet our goal, we'll deliver over 800 boxes of cereal and nearly 100 pounds of cheese to Second Harvest. This large donation will go a long way in feeding those in need across the Lehigh Valley over the winter months.

WDIY 88.1 FM, Lehigh Valley’s community NPR station invites its members and friends to come out on Saturday, Oct. 5th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist with the planting of over 600 trees along the Jordan Creek in the Trexler Nature Preserve.  The trees are being donated and planted as part of the station’s spring membership drive.  During the on-air drive, the station partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Lehigh County Parks and Just Born, Inc. in offering to plant a tree for each new and renewing member of the station.

Bethlehem’s Fourth of July fireworks display will for the first time feature pyrotechnics synchronized to music. The City has teamed with Celebration Fireworks of Kutztown and WDIY 88.1 FM radio to bring the “pyromusical” to Bethlehem.

Celebration Fireworks uses computer software to choreograph multiple explosions in time with popular and patriotic music. More than 1,000 fireworks effects are placed in multiple firing positions to produce crossing patterns and motion sequences.
