March is Women's History Month, and we're exploring work by and about women in the Valley on this edition of Lehigh Valley Arts Salon.

First, hosts Kate Scuffle and George Miller will talk with DanceLink creator/choreographer Sarah Carlson and composer Vernon Mobley about their new collaboration, "The Body Keeps The Score: Dancing with Trauma and Recovery", opening March 23 at the Ice House in Bethlehem.

On Saturday, March 3, 2018, WDIY celebrated 23 years in the Lehigh Valley with our annual Anniversary Party. WDIY volunteers, members, listeners, board members, and staff packed the Ice House in Bethlehem for a memorable night celebrating WDIY's history in the Lehigh Valley and our accomplishments over the last year. Nilo Hodge documented the night with these photos.

Hosts George Miller and Kate Scuffle speak with Sarah Carlson and Chloe Cole Wilson, creators of  "What Lies Within: Dancing With Race & Identity", a collaborative performance by DanceLink and Basement Poetry.

"What Lies Within" debuts at the IceHouse in Bethlehem On February 10 and 11, 2017.

George Hrab on The Blend

Multi-instumentalist, composer, and musical chameleon, George Hrab, returned to the WDIY studios to talk about The Broad Street Score, a reworking of his compositions from the last 20 years for a performance with string quartet, the Rittenhouse Strings, on Saturday, January 23rd at the IceHouse in Bethlehem.

In addition to discussing George's career, host Bill Dautremont-Smith played some of the original versions of George's songs with previews of the string quartet versions.

Carlos Benjamin welcomed George Hrab and Slau Halatyn from the Blue Turtles into the studio for a live interview and performance during the Blend. The band performed the music of Sting later that evening at the Ice House in Bethlehem.
