Michael Drabenstott returns with our monthly feature exploring the Lehigh Valley's culinary scene. This month, Michael looks at two Lehigh Valley breweries and and one business in the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmer's Market.

First, Michael speaks with Weyerbacher Brewing Company brewmaster Chris Wilson discusses his brewery's rise from a livery stable in downtown Easton to the current 30,000 square foot facility he calls home. Drabenstott also speaks with beer historian and award-winning brewer Chris Bowen who was just named the new head brewer at Fegley's Brew Works in Bethlehem.

On Saturday, March 3, 2018, WDIY celebrated 23 years in the Lehigh Valley with our annual Anniversary Party. WDIY volunteers, members, listeners, board members, and staff packed the Ice House in Bethlehem for a memorable night celebrating WDIY's history in the Lehigh Valley and our accomplishments over the last year. In the second program this week leading up to the fifth Lehigh Valley Beer Week opening on Feb. 18, Bill Dautremont-Smith discusses it from the business perspective and explores the exploding craft brewing industry here in the Lehigh Valley that LVBW has helped to bring about.

Bethlehem filmmaker, brewing historian and brewer Chris Bowen discusses his award-winning beer, Arctic Alchemy, created by Bowen and produced through Fegley's Brew Works. The brew took home a gold medal in the prestigious 2014 Great American Beer Festival, the only Valley beer to do so. Bowen will also discuss his latest film, Sagas of the Iron Horn which tackles making ale, Viking-style.

The Second Annual Lehigh Valley Beer Week begins February 16 and General Manager Jesse Albertson of Fegley's Brew Works chats with George Miller and Kate Scuffle about the exciting upcoming event.
