On Galactic Travels, the Special Focus for June is Robert Rich. Across three decades and over 30 albums, Robert Rich has helped define the genres of ambient music, dark-ambient, tribal and trance, yet his music remains hard to categorize. Part of his unique sound comes from using home-made acoustic and electronic instruments, microtonal harmonies, computer-based signal processing, chaotic systems and feedback networks.
On the next Galactic Travels, the month-long Special Focus on Modulator ESP concludes. The Featured CD at Midnight will be Adventures in Sound - Episode 198 "Adventures with (volca) beats!" on electro-music media.
On Galactic Travels, the Special Focus for May is Modulator ESP. Modulator Experimental Synthesis Project (Modulator ESP) is Jez Creek from Nottingham in the UK. He performs improvised music that explores the boundaries of dark ambient, drone, Berlin School sequencing, and noise using modular synthesis, real-time sampling, sound manipulation, and live looping.
On the next Galactic Travels, a month-long Special Focus on Steve Roach continues. The Featured CD at Midnight will be disc three from the 30th anniversary reissue of Structures from Silence on Projekt Records.
