WDIY Announces 2017 Member Representative Election Meeting

WDIY is pleased to announce that our annual Membership Representative Election Meeting will take place at WDIY on November 13, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

WDIY on-air volunteer Ashleigh Strange is the one candidate pursuing the opportunity to join the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association Board of Directors as a WDIY Member Representative. The purpose of the Member Representative position is to provide a voice to the station's volunteers and WDIY members on the Board of Directors. All members are invited to attend and vote.

Board President, Karen El-Chaar, will also provide updates about WDIY at the beginning of the meeting.

If you are interested in attending the Membership Representative Election Meeting please RSVP to Alison DelRe at alison@wdiy.org by Wednesday, November 1, 2017 as seats are limited. Ashleigh Strange's biography is below:

Ashleigh hosting WDIY's broadcast of All Things Considered

Ashleigh Strange has lived in the Lehigh Valley for four years and has volunteered at WDIY as host of All Things Considered for 2 years. She is thrilled to apply for the position of WDIY Member Representative.

Ashleigh graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a broadcast journalism degree. She also hosted her own music program in the student radio station KSUA for 3 years, focused on musical theater.

As a volunteer with AmeriCorps and Civil Air Patrol, Ashleigh has seen the inner workings of nonprofit organizations and she is prepared to listen to members in the community to serve them best. Volunteers are the heart of the organization, and by expanding our training and volunteer opportunities, members can have an audible voice in the Board of Directors.

If chosen to be Member Representative, Ashleigh pledges to bring fresh ideas and build upon the good work that WDIY has done in the community for over 20 years.
