Sustainability on Lehigh Valley Discourse

Mar 15, 2013

“Sustainability” has become one of those buzzwords that almost everyone is using.  But it might not mean the same thing to everyone. The Lehigh Valley is deeply into promoting the sustainable communities agenda, led by a federal grant to the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.  And the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission’s work has, for many years, essentially promoted sustainability.  Join host Alan Jennings as he interviews two people with prominent roles in this issue:  Geoffrey Reese, Assistant Director of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, and Holly Edinger, Director of Sustainable Development, Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation. The discussion will include LVPC’s population and employment forecasts, sprawl, urban revitalization, the disconnect between where jobs are being created and the labor force lives, and more.
