Rob Aptaker: Two Native American Creation Stories

Today, Wednesday, April 27th, is National Tell A Story Day. In honor of that, I have two stories for you, told by Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild member Rob Aptaker.

For over 40 years Rob has visited and learned from Native American people all over what is now America (and parts of Canada). Native American stories are often called myths and folklore, but to them the stories are sacred teachings.  Rob thinks of them that way too.

Here is Rob with two Native American creation stories.

That was Rob Aptaker.

You might hear Rob at one of the Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild’s Story Circles. These free events happen at Godfrey Daniels, 7th East Fourth St. in South Bethlehem, every second Wednesday of the month except for the month of August, at 7:30ish. You don’t have to tell a story, you can just come and listen.

On third Wednesdays is the Lehigh Valley Story Slam at McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub and Whiskey Bar, starting at 8:00pm. Talk to your smart phone about this, and find out the rules, details, and  make a reservation.

Until next time, have fun and keep a story in your heart.
