Host Bill Dautremont-Smith talks with Steve Coleman, jazz alto saxist, bandleader, composer and music theoretician, Allentown resident, and recently-announced 2014 MacArthur Fellowship genius award winner. They discuss his long career in music and other fields, moving from NYC to the Lehigh Valley about 20 years ago and being based here while performing around the globe, the MacArthur award and the impact of winning it, and his initial ideas of projects that are now made possible by the award.
