The Drop: Bedroom Dancing With The 2 Bears

The idea of dancing alone has inspired pop stars from Billy Idol to Robyn, while Le Tigre's members were happy to sway in front of the bedroom mirror in the aptly named "Eau D'Bedroom Dancing."

Few albums this year have been better suited to bedroom dancing than The 2 Bears' Be Strong, one of the best records of 2012. Producers Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and his Greco-Roman label partner Raf Daddy operate in that sweet spot between songcraft and body music, banging out house tracks with killer choruses and remixes that take good songs and make them great.

The 2 Bears just released a new double-disc mix of favorite songs and remixes, titled 2 Bears 1 Love (puns!), and one of the best is a 2 Bears remix of British rapper Wiley's "I'm Skanking," a song about perfecting your moves in the privacy of your own home. It's a nice twist on the "dancing by yourself" theme — how many songs are literally about training for the club? — and The 2 Bears' pitch-shifted "mmms" and "ahhs" and bumping bass make it that much easier to practice.
