Dr. Dog On Mountain Stage

The oddball rockers in Dr. Dog make their second appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded in partnership with the Marshall Artists Series in Huntington, W.V. Combining an unapologetic love of 1960s pop with a shambling indie-rock aesthetic, Dr. Dog has earned a loyal and growing audience.

Based outside of Philadelphia, founding members Toby Leaman and Scott McMicken have seen the band through more than 20 members, including a one-string guitar player in a skeleton costume and a tuxedo-clad dancer. The band's onstage accoutrements were pared down for this performance, but nevertheless included oscilloscopes, vintage electronics and an arsenal of effects and sonic toys stashed behind a homemade keyboard stand labeled "The Meatball Palace." Dr. Dog's set draws from its latest album, Be the Void, and includes "Take Me Into Town," which was not heard during the radio broadcast.

Set List

"Take Me Into Town"
"Do The Trick"
"These Days"
"That Old Black Hole"
"Turning The Century"
"Lonesome"
