Catie Curtis.

Boston-based singer-songwriter Catie Curtis makes her fifth appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, W.V. Curtis' career has spanned two decades, and in that time, she's been called a "folk-rock goddess" by The New Yorker, and is widely regarded as a standard-bearer on the New England folk scene.

Curtis' new album, Stretch Limousine on Fire, explores life's milestones; its title comes from a time when Curtis saw an actual stretch limousine, engulfed in flames, on an interstate median. She's backed throughout this performance by her friend Jenna Lindbo on keys, along with the Mountain Stage band.

Curtis is followed by the Mountain Stage band's Julie Adams, with the Holland-Dozier-Holland tune "Goin' Down for the Third Time."

This performance was originally published April 5, 2012.
