Shortly after her mother's death, Weinbaum accidentally discovered a mysterious box marked "careful old letters" in storage. In the box were 169 letters and postcards recounting the harrowing circumstances of her loved ones living as a Jewish family in Europe during the Holocaust. As guardian of these haunting memories, she found a way to honor their authors. By sharing the powerful firsthand accounts of remarkable courage displayed by her family, Weinbaum ensures that their voices, along with the voices of those who perished, will not be forgotten.
