Bomba Estereo's new album, Elegancia Tropical, is gorgeous — and, for a limited time, you can hear it in its entirety as an NPR Music First Listen. Our own Felix Contreras writes that the record "represents a major step forward for Bomba Estéreo, as it thoughtfully builds on [the band's] success and promise."

Elegancia Tropical is filled with joyful energy, nostalgia, spiritual questions, love struggles and, as always, a deep love of Latin American culture and music, combined with curiosity regarding electronic beats.

The Colombian band's lead singer, Li Saumet, recently sat down with Alt.Latino to discuss her influences and Caribbean musical roots. It's a danceable and thought-provoking discussion.
