Rob is a long-time fan of good, imaginative radio, and his interest in the medium dates back tohearing “The Shadow” when he was a kid in New Jersey. As a student at Moravian College in the 1970’s, Rob was an announcer on WRMC as well as thestation’s program director for several years. That’s where his musical interests broadenedgreatly, as he dug deeply into the genres of jazz, progressive rock, world, and classical music. He was influenced also by living in Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer, friends’ musical pursuitsand record collections, and attendance at concerts up and down the East Coast. These days, he searches out new venues and performers as well as established favorites. He’sbecome somewhat of a regular at The Deerhead in Delaware Water Gap, clubs, and auditoriumsin NYC and Philadelphia. He frequents the jazz series at the Williams Center at LafayetteCollege and applauds the station’s sponsorship of this and other venues in the Valley. Rob has written music and play reviews for the former Easton Express and is never far fromissues of Downbeat magazine. His CD collection is quite eclectic, and he often explores the richuniverse of internet radio stations that seemingly has no boundaries. Rob works as a media relations specialist at Lehigh Valley Health Network, and teaches at theWescoe School of Muhlenberg College in the evenings.
