Mike Space

Music has always been much more than the background to Mike's life, but really came front and center when he arrived in the Valley in the mid 90’s and began to work with Godfrey Daniels about the same time he started as a programmer on WDIY, where he most enjoyed doing the Wednesday night “anything goes” late shift. When a Friday Morning Mix spot opened up he jumped at it, and when that show moved to the afternoon and became The Blend, he tagged along.  In Mike's opinion, the Blend should really be a BLEND, from the latest (He loves to be the first to air a new CD) to the old stuff, and that can even mean 50’s, 40’s and earlier (Gregorian chants, anyone?), with anything from Jazz to Bollywood to Show Music and Classical thrown into the pot. Above all, it should be fun to do, and fun to listen to!
