Michael Tamte-Horan

Michael Tamte-Horan is a conductor and educator of many years. He served as a university professor for more than thirty years before founding and directing the professional chamber music ensemble, CANTATICA (www.cantatica.org).

Michael is listed in Who's Who in America; a recipient of the American Choral Directors Association MN Award for Creative Programming and Excellent in Choral Performance; and a past board member, contributing journal author, and clinician for ACDA.

A champion of unique and lesser known musical compositions and composers from around the world, Michael has discovered and lead Unites States premieres of numerous vocal and instrumental works including those of Michael McGlynn (Ireland), Sean Dagher (Canada), John Dankworth (England), John Metcalfe (Wales), Rebecca Clark (England), James Walker (England), John Jeffreys (Wales), Jose Vitier (Cuba), and Sarah Hopkins (Australia).
